Superman (1978) A super guide to the film

For this mega-video covering the 1978 film Superman we gloss over the origin of the character before diving deep into the Salkinds backing the movie then trying to get the project off the ground. We go over Richard Donner's involvement, the feuds on set, the money problems, filming, merchandising and eventual release. Eventually we go over the firing of Richard Donner and the many details and deleted scenes for the final version of the movie. For research we utilized the following books: Superman: Last Son of Krypton (1978) by Elliot S. Maggin, The Making of Superman the Movie by David Michael Petrou, Superman: The Richard Donner Years by Jim Bowers and Brian McKernan, Superman vs. Hollywood by Jake Rossen. and The Life and Films of Richard Donner by James Christie. We also studied and utilized all special features from the 2001 DVD as well as the 2017 Blu Ray extended cut. We also studied all the Topps 78/79 series 1 and 2 trading cards along with the various screenplays, the many interviews, documentaries and videos on the internet.
