SEARCH and RESCUE Surfing | YOU Didn't Expect Helicopter!

A fun reef session turns into something very different… 🚁🌊 In this POV surfing vlog from the NSW South Coast, I head down to a local reef break for a fun day of clean right-hand waves — but as soon as I arrive, it’s clear something serious is happening. A helicopter is hovering over the surf break, with jet skis and boats searching the area for a suspected missing fishing diver. What starts as a standard surf quickly becomes a real-time search and rescue situation. While I’m out in the lineup catching waves, the search team actually approach me on a jet ski to ask if I’ve seen anything in the water — bringing a completely unexpected element into the session. Filmed in immersive 4K POV on the DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro, this video captures both sides of the day — fun, high wave-count surfing on a right-hand reef, combined with the reality of an active marine search and rescue operation unfolding around us. 👉 Watch the video all the way through to see my board and fin setup, and to see what happens with the search and rescue.
