The Kingslayer (Yongle Emperor) Sword - Fancy But Not for Me...

This one was sort of difficult to review. When the original was not meant for actual use I suppose you can't judge the reproduction too harshly. But then again there are certain standards on the current sword market to go by, and a certain functionality is reasonable to expect. The blade on this sword is perfectly fine, and the hilt is beautiful, with plenty of intricate detail. The construction is rather iffy though and would make me hesitant to use it for regular backyard cutting. And as a collector's sword based on a historical design in my opinion it deviates a little too much as far as proportions and visual elements are concerned.
