MENGENAL INFLUENCER

The digital space has recently drastically changed the landscape of public communication. Information is no longer produced by conventional mass media institutions, but rather by individuals with large social media followings, known as influencers or content creators. In a democratic ecosystem, influencers can also play a strategic role. They have the ability to shape public opinion, direct behavioral trends, and even amplify socio-political issues with remarkable speed. Unlike press institutions, which are bound by a Journalistic Code of Ethics and multi-layered verification mechanisms, this phenomenon presents new challenges: maintaining information accuracy, upholding ethics in the digital space, and optimizing the role of influencers in supporting a healthy, literacy-based democratic climate.
