Jehovah’s Witnesses: Who Are the Men in the Cockpit?

In the last video, we talked about the Jehovah’s Witness Bible study and why people deserve to know where that study can lead. Now we need to talk about the men in the cockpit — the Governing Body of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Jehovah’s Witnesses are taught to view the Governing Body as the men providing spiritual direction for the organization. But what happens when that direction changes? What happens when teachings are adjusted, people have already made life decisions, and no apology is offered? In this video, we look at how the Governing Body is presented inside the Jehovah’s Witness organization, how “new light” is used to explain changed teachings, and why those changes can affect real people in serious ways. We also look at examples involving the generation teaching, education, career choices, medical decisions, and conscience. This conversation matters because these are not just religious ideas on paper. For many Jehovah’s Witnesses and former Jehovah’s Witnesses, these teachings shaped decisions about school, work, family, health, and the future. In the next video, we’ll look at what can happen when someone crosses the line — expulsion, shunning, and what it feels like when the community you trusted begins to treat you like someone to avoid. #JehovahsWitnesses #GoverningBody #ExJW #JWOrg #Watchtower #NewLight #Shunning #ReligiousTrauma #HighControlReligion #HiddenStruggles
