"Why Didn't You Let Me Die?" [David & Erica] April 7, 1999 All My Children

David checks up on Erica and panics when he sees the broken mirrors. They argue bitterly about the accident, with Erica struggling to remember the details. Erica insists her life is over now and demands to know why David didn't just let her die there in the car. David says he's never wanted to save anyone more than he wanted to save her. He insists that she is still beautiful and that her life is still worth living, but Erica is in no mood to listen.
