King Hezekiah, gravely ill, turned to God, repented, and received fifteen additional years of life. As a sign to him, God caused the sun to set back, resulting in a tremendous miracle visible throughout the world. When Nebuchadnezzar learned that a letter addressed to King Hezekiah did not mention God first, he took only three steps to have it corrected and to give God the honor that was due Him. For these three steps taken in honor of Heaven, he received an extraordinary reward that lasted for three generations. So, imagine the reward for all the steps we take to go to the synagogue, study Torah, pray, or perform a mitzvah! No effort made for God is forgotten.
