Mandera County embarks on rehabilitation of Banisa dam
In a major step towards addressing water shortages and combating waterborne diseases, the Mandera County government has launched a water expansion project in Banissa Sub-County. The initiative, spearheaded by the department of water services, focuses on rehabilitating and expanding of Banissa Dam, to improve access to clean water for thousands of residents. County executive committee member for water services, Mohamud Eda, assured residents that the rehabilitation work will significantly improve water access. Residents of Bannisa have welcomed the project saying it will help in significantly reducing of waterborne diseases.
