"No quiero a nadie con cáncer en mi empresa" | Gente Maravillosa

Hidden cameras on the show "Gente Maravillosa" expose the workplace discrimination faced by people with cancer, coinciding with World Cancer Day. Toñi Moreno's program aims to highlight a tragedy that affected nearly 27,000 cancer patients in 2018: workplace discrimination. Three out of ten people who have overcome some type of cancer report experiencing workplace discrimination. In one of our hidden camera segments, a woman returns to work after medical leave for cancer treatment and encounters a very unpleasant situation: her boss fires her, saying that what she needs to do is "get better," and also tells her that she doesn't want anyone in her shop who is "sick," as it "gives a very bad impression to customers." This hidden camera segment is supported by the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC), an organization deeply committed to the labor rights of people with cancer and their families, and which provides free advice through Infocáncer: 900-100036.
