In my mind it’s one of the greatest spots in Saskatchewan because you just get so many different things. The type of calls we typically get in Battleford, we get really everything. We can get a drunk person down on main street, or we can get a robbery in progress. Every call you can think of, we get it here. My name is Cst. Alexandra Boulanger. I am generally duty here in Battleford. I’ve been a member for a little over nine years, and I’ve been in Battleford for almost six years. Battlefords is its own beast in a way that like you have all the units here. We have PDS, FIS, GIS, CRT, GTF so if you have a career in mind, or if you don’t, well then you have the opportunity to learn from all those units. You can go shadow them for a day. They do presentations and all that, so you really have your pick. Like you can start at GD and then decide to “you know what? I want to go here, I want to FIS.” But then you have like all those opportunities here, right here, that you don’t have to travel to go to. I’d say schedule-wise, you won’t get better than this. No on-call, which is huge. And career-wise, wherever you go after this, you’ll be solid enough to trust yourself, but you’ll be also solid enough to know what to expect to further your career, or just for work experience, this is a great spot to stop or to start. I think in Saskatchewan this is probably the best spot you can get for work and for opportunities.
