Grief after a breakup outside of a formal relationship is, without a doubt, one of the most hidden and silenced forms of grief I've ever worked with. At the same time, it doesn't cease to exist. When a "forbidden" relationship ends, it also entails grief, and this grief will be silent and secretive because just as the relationship couldn't exist, it seems this grief isn't "allowed" to exist either.
