Wood turning - "The Laburnum Beauty!".

In this weeks wood turning video I create "The Laburnum Beauty" a vase made from Laburnum wood, epoxy resin and Pewter. I had to change the design of the epoxy resin half way through the project because the colour I had used in my opinion had no contrast to the wood. This caused some annoyance but had the added bonus of being able to add a ring of Pewter into the equation, which I hadn't thought of earlier. I think the final piece looks very smart finished in six coats of automotive spray lacquer flatted between coats to give a high gloss finish. Please remember that if using Laburnum for a project then extra safety precautions are required when turning and in the method of finishing as it has been known to be lethal to humans and animals eg: pets.
