"spring day" - bts but years later and you're remembering that one spring day in 2016 [kdrama edit]

it's 2059. they say life flashes before your eyes when you greet death but the only moment you remembered was the last day of spring in 2016. you two were the closest of friends. but after you both moved away to the city for uni, connections became choppy and the distance between you dragged on. as such, reconnecting after all those years felt both like a dream you wanted to finish and a nightmare you wish would end. after a couple of drinks or two (or three), you both decided to leave the dimly lit pub, and walk around the city. tired and drunk, you both found a park bench in seoul forest to rest your soaked feet and dizzy minds. you sat amongst empty cherry blossoms trees, under the rain with that electric yellow umbrella you bought at the sunday flea market to cover your heads. then, as you sat there looking at their eyes, you realized many things had changed. they grew out their hair, and finally chopped off their bangs. they dreamt of being an r&b singer in high school, but became a librarian who only ever listens to generic radio music. more importantly, they swore to never drink a single drop of beer, which in their defence is true because they drink 10 times more than that and can now handle their alcohol way better than you. still, in that very moment under the midnight sky, you were also hit with the sudden realization that maybe some things never changed at all. the way their hands are still warm in the coldest of nights and how they would hold your hand for a few seconds and let go just to spite you. the way they would focus their gaze at you but feel absent all at the same time as they looked at you with pity, or admiration, or both (you could never really tell). little did they know though, you had always known. how they felt. how you felt. that thought of yours had been static throughout the dimensions of time that have passed you both. so in that last spring day, you realized that maybe, just maybe, some things were just as you both had left it.
