I feel he is best suited to explain in words what this song is about. Love ya brother! “This song is about the ways the love you share with someone can take different forms. Lovers to friends, friends to lovers, to hold someone dear to you forever. Nick is a neighborhood staple I met outside of Fradys one day when we got to talking about Tammy Wynette after he was done clowning on the good old boys. Not long after we met Nick started having Joe, an old lover and lifelong friend, live with him. Joe was sick and Nick had all these people in the neighborhood helping out with meals and everything until Joe passed away. It was a really beautiful thing and made for my favorite love story. Most of what is said here I heard from nick, some of it I took creative license on, but it got the stamp of approval a few days ago. Thank god, would have had to burn a lot of vinyl.
