Showbiz Celebrities Endorse Margaret Thatcher at Young Conservatives Rally (1983)

On 5 June 1983, ITN's Michael Brunson reported from a Young Conservatives campaign rally in London, where Margaret Thatcher was joined by a host of showbiz celebrities including singer-songwriter Lynsey de Paul, world snooker champion Steve Davis, and comedians Jimmy Tarbuck and Kenny Everett. In a speech addressed to the party's youth, the prime minister attacked the Labour Party's election manifesto and referred to Labour as the "no help" party. #GeneralElection #GeneralElection2024 #MargaretThatcher #Thatcher #1983 #Conservatives #ConservativeParty #Conservative #Tory #Tories To license the footage featured in this clip, follow the link below: https://www.gettyimages.co.uk/detail/...
