Raising the Bar (2005 full video) REMASTERED - the original true life bodybuilding documentary

The true to life bodybuilding documentary from 2005 that started it all, now remastered, and for the first time the complete video is FREE to view on YouTube! Raising the Bar was one of the first of a new wave of realistic and honest bodybuilding documentaries that inspired the likes of Generation Iron and a score of amateur filmmakers and athletes who began to show the sport of bodybuilding as it really is, warts and all. In 2005, bodybuilding documentaries were “sets and reps” videos, showing the training and some of the dieting, but mostly unedited and never really getting into the motivations of the competitors or the trials and tribulations of this extreme sport. In 2004 amateur filmmaker Mike Pulcinella used an inexpensive video camera to tape his brother Dave’s journey to compete in the Delaware State/East Coast Classic bodybuilding competition. Little did he know the moments of heartache and triumph he would capture or how this little film, originally created for his family to enjoy, would explode in popularity within the bodybuilding community. For the first time bodybuilders had a true documentary about a sport/art that is still greatly misunderstood by the general public. Now RTB1 has been remastered with improved images, enhanced sound and updated music for a new generation to enjoy. 0:00 – Intro, The Inside Story of a Life in Bodybuilding 0:51 – February 2004, “We’re about 20 weeks out…” 4:59 – The Novice 10:23 – New School 12:24 – “He was a skinny, scrawny kid.” 19:54 – Pain 24:09 – “Raise the Bar!” 25:25 – April, “They’re coming out of the woodwork!” 32:19 – May, “It’s a waste of time and energy!” 39:11 – The 6 Foods That Work 47:46 – “Quarter Turn to the Right.” 50:54 – “New School Crap!” 53:28 – June, Intensity…or Insanity? 58:27 – “He said he just couldn’t take it anymore.” 1:01:06 – 3 Days Out 1:02:52 – Tanning Night 1:06:07 – July 17, 2004, The Day of the Show 1:14:05 – Prejudging 1:21:30 – “Get Dave!” 1:24:40 – Show Time 1:34:26 – Final Posedown 1:37:41 – A Fan 1:39:18 – What Happened After, Credits
