"Emelec Bicampeón" (Canal UNO, 12-22-2002)

We found this cassette with this recording. Unfortunately, the video has many errors. I don't know if it's due to tape deterioration over time, but it seems the person who recorded it failed to fine-tune the roof antenna to get the best image quality. Perhaps the heads were dirty, or the VHS player was very old and worn, and they recorded it like that. Oh well, at least we can see this file. Club Sport Emelec was crowned champion of Ecuadorian football in 2002, achieving its tenth national title and its second consecutive championship in history. The championship was decided on December 22, 2002, in one of the most exciting matches in Ecuadorian football. Emelec reached the final match of the Liguilla Final in third place, one point behind Barcelona and El Nacional. To win the title, "El Bombillo" needed to win its match and hope that the other two contenders didn't win. The key details of that feat were: Emelec's match: They defeated Aucas 2-1 at the George Capwell Stadium in Guayaquil. The goals for Emelec were scored by Otilino Tenorio and a spectacular bicycle kick by Augusto Poroso. The simultaneous finals: In Quito, Barcelona and Liga de Quito drew 0-0, and El Nacional lost to Deportivo Quito. The coronation: Upon learning the results in the capital, the fans celebrated their second consecutive championship at the Capwell Stadium. The official trophy had initially been taken to Quito.
