In this special video, I'll take you with me on one of Italy's most incredible trails: the one that leads to the Arco Magno of San Nicola Arcella, a true wild jewel of the Riviera dei Cedri, in the heart of Calabria! 🚶‍♂️🌊 Let's start together from the small hidden beach south of the arch, right next to the inimitable Costa dei Cedri, and begin "climbing"—without effort, I promise!—a true Indiana Jones trail among rocks, pine trees, and incredible Mediterranean scrub scented with the scent of the sea. The view? Incredible: before you lies Praia a Mare with its famous Isola di Dino, Maratea in the distance, Scalea, and all the best of Calabria's landscapes. As we walk—and woe betide anyone who complains about the climb!—we discover that from up there you can see three regions at a glance: Calabria, Campania, and Basilicata! Mythical views for mythical explorers. But it's not just nature: the Arco Magno is surrounded by legends and ancient stories. It's said that the Grotta dell'Arco was already known in ancient times, perhaps as a place of worship or a magical refuge, and who knows, maybe a mermaid actually lived there? Today, the Arco Magno is one of the most iconic places on the Costa dei Cedri, frequented by travelers, sunset lovers, hikers, and... us, of course! The trail is short—about 15-20 minutes—but it feels like you're right in the middle of an adventure movie. Cool shadows, perfect photo opportunities, Mediterranean scents, and that secret beach framed by the natural rock arch that has become famous everywhere.
