Objection 2001 - Orchestral Reimagining (Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney)

But I wanted to put a lot of focus into making it sound somewhat like a fully fledged reimagining of the legendary theme rather than a 1:1 copy of the original in orchestrated form. So this arrangement was born! An arrangement of one of the most satisfying themes I've ever encountered in a game. The feeling of actually making a big breakthrough in the case and realising that your numerous tries of hopelessly finding contradictions have actually amounted to something! I wanted to start quite delicately with the sound of bells, triangles, and soft dynamics. Somewhat like the feeling just before you press the objection button when you're nervously waiting for either the music to stop or for the judge to shake his head in disapproval. I then used a crescendo building up to the main section of Objection. Quite reminiscent of the Anniversary Concert arrangements. The main difference in terms of mixing though is that I wanted a punchy bass drum. Unrealistic in the context of an orchestra but works well for this kind of track in creating punchiness and power. As is usually the case, I delved into a short reference to another piece within the interlude part of the arrangement where the intensity decreases, before a powerful finale!
