Introduction to Reproducible Publications with Quarto | Torin White
Hosted by R-Ladies Rome (https://www.meetup.com/rladies-rome/) and R-Ladies Paris, the workshop was an informative session for everyone. Torin White ( / torinwhite , the lead data scientist in the Research IT group at the University of Illinois Chicago in the United States, guided us through a profound understanding of using #Quarto (#iQuartopub) R to (#RStats). This workshop was held virtually on Tuesday, January 16, 2024. Don’t forget to select the bell 🔔 on the top right of our YouTube channel to receive notifications of new videos posted. You're also welcome to join our Meetup group here 👉🏻 https://www.meetup.com/rladies-paris/ ➡️ About the workshop: Quarto is a new open-source scientific and technical publishing system that Posit developed, extending the capabilities of its predecessor R Markdown. It is a powerful tool that may be used in both RStudio and Jupyter Notebooks for combining narrative text with code for reports, academic articles, books, web pages, and more. This workshop is a short version of the carpentry-style “Introduction to Reproducible Publications with RStudio” including lecture and demos alternating with hands-on exercises, so by the end of the workshop, attendees will have “authored” a reproducible paper of their own with the data and narrative provided. Specifically, we will cover an introduction to Quarto documents, writing and styling narrative text, and integrating R code in one seamless, publication-ready document. For the best experience, it is suggested that attendees have a basic understanding of the RStudio environment before attending the workshop.
