The Double-Edged Greatness of Assassin's Creed Brotherhood

Assassin's Creed 2 may by my favorite AC game, but AC Brotherhood more than lived up to its legacy, even outright improving almost every mechanical component over its predecessor. The excellence of Brotherhood is unfortunately juxtaposed against the corporate greed that set in with the creation of this game; yearly releases, lack of creative cohesion, ignoring the original modern day story, all of this started with Brotherhood. The series would look so different if Ubisoft had just let the same dev team move on to AC3 - but does that take away from how good Brotherhood is in spite of it all?
