He then joined the Ses theater. He met his fans as Hacı Mimi in the play "Istanbul Efendisi" (Istanbul Efendisi), staged by Muammer Karaca and Turgut Demirağ at the And Theater. Such a master actor, who had performed hundreds of times and portrayed dozens of characters, would naturally appear on the big screen. His first film appearance was in Muhsin Ertuğrul's film, "If My Wife Cheats on Me." The year was 1933. He certainly didn't abandon the theater; he still remained a prominent figure on the stage, but he also deeply loved cinema. Zeki Alpan, who entered the cinema scene in 1933, appeared in nearly 20 films until 1950, including Kanlı Nigar, Kerem ile Aslı, Sinım, Çakırcalı Mehmet Efe, Sihirli Treasure, and Gang. After the 1950s, he focused more on film than theater. In the ten years between 1950 and 1960, he appeared in over 40 films. The most notable of these are Yıldızlar revue, Memis ile Ibis Anaforcular Krali, Cennet Yolculeri, Kanli Çiftlik, Mahallenin Namusu, Kalpakliler, and Üçüncü Kat Cinisi. The '60s were his breakout years. The films "The Fake Prince," "Little Lady," "The Devil's Sword," "They Can't Take You from Me," "The Most Beautiful of Destiny," "Two Ships Side by Side," "The Crossed Lad," "Fatos's Wife Defeated Tayfur," "The Hunter Becomes the Hunted," "The Armless Hero," "The Girl Who Becomes a Life Behind," "Marko Pasha," "Mixed with Pain," "Stunning Revenge," "They Call Me Phosphorous," and "Life Isn't Worth Crying" are among the most important films he appeared in during the '60s. The '70s were equally rapid for Zeki Alpan. He attracted considerable attention with his role as a sorcerer in "Keloğlan." He also garnered significant attention for his roles as Emin in "Sev Kardeşler" (Sev Kardeşler), the slave trader in "Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves" (Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves), the butler on the arm of Mr. Josef "Armless Hero" in "Kaphe Trap" (The Wife), the elderly convict in "Hamama Giren Terler" (The Sweat That Enters the Bath), the doctor in "Hang on, Son, Dayan" (Hang on, Son, Dayan), the senator in "Red Kit vs. the Daltons" (The Daltons), and Sergeant Mehmet in "Nesil Günler" (The Joyful Days). Despite not having any formal training in the art, Zeki Alpan worked for six months alongside Monsieur Marini, one of the world's leading makeup experts, on a joint Italian project, creating makeup for a wide range of celebrities, from Türkan Şoray and Filiz Akın to Cüneyt Arkın and Kartal Tibet. Alpan, who also worked on historical films and made actors resemble the historical characters they portrayed, transformed Süleyman Turan into Mehmed the Conqueror, Cüneyt Arkın into Selahattin Eyyubi, and İsmail Dümbüllü into Nasreddin Hodja. With his extensive range of mirrors, pencils, pastes, powders, wigs, masks, and dozens of other materials, he was one of the most accomplished masters of his time. As a makeup artist, he worked on 14 films, including Kara Murat: The Master of the Seas, Genghis Khan's Fedai, Keloglan and Cankiz, Four Women in the Harem, and Yumurcak Faka Basmaz. He transformed Türkan Şoray into a man, aged Sadri Alışık by 30 years, and disguised Muammer Karaca as a singer. His successful make-up artist status was described in Ses magazine's 14th issue, dated 1971: "In "7 Husbands of Hürmüz," which broke a record by being performed over a thousand times at the Ayfer Feray Theater, Türkan Şoray plays a flirtatious, flighty old-time belle. By breaking necks, bending backs, lowering her headscarf, and squinting, she captivates men, sets hearts ablaze, and extinguishes hearts. While doing all this, she changes from one type to another, from one costume to another. At one point, she even becomes a teacher, wearing a mustache and beard."
