This documentary series, "The Bridge of the Sea," commemorates His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej's 7th Cycle Birthday Anniversary on December 5, 2011. It's titled "Roots Taken: A Record of the Royal Thai Navy's Foundation." On the afternoon of November 20, 125th year of the Rattanakosin Era (1906), His Majesty King Chulalongkorn disembarked from the royal barge at the ceremonial pavilion. During the ceremony, His Majesty signed the Naval Academy's guest book, leaving a historically significant message: "November 20, 125th year of the Rattanakosin Era. I, Chulalongkorn, have come to open this school. I am pleased to see that the naval forces have taken root and will be a stronghold for the future." Following this royal opening of the Naval Academy, a crucial chapter in the history of the Siamese navy began, laying the foundation for national maritime defense. This coincided with the gradual development and transformation of the Naval Academy. This special documentary series, "The Bridge of the Sea," comprises 48 episodes, each 25 minutes long, commemorating His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej's 7th Cycle Birthday Anniversary on December 5, 2011. It aired on TrueVisions TNN 2 and TNN 24, Spring News, Sattahip Cable TV, and online at www.thaiarmedforce.com throughout 2011. The series provided the public with an opportunity to appreciate His Majesty's grace and brilliance through stories of his various royal duties and speeches to different groups.
