We want God to speak to us, and for His promises and commandments to come into our lives. We want to have something to receive from the Lord and something to impart from the Lord. But when we receive what we asked for, we sometimes begin to think that these words of God are now held hostage by our emotions, and we control them. That is, we will serve those we like, speak to those we deem worthy, and impart God's word when we believe they deserve it. Can we decide for ourselves to whom and when to impart God's word, which He sends through us? Do we have the right, in anger at people, to "break God's tablets"—to abandon His calling? What should we do if the "tablet" does fall from our hands? And what does God do with the seals placed by people?
