IMAGINARY FORCES - Elysium TC Shakespeare Initiative @Assembly Rooms Theatre, Durham 2025

In October 2025 Elysium Theatre Company polited its 'Imaginary Forces' schools engagement initiative, part of our Shakespeare For All scheme. Elysium presented 5 live, interactive workshops on 'Macbeth' and 'Othello' to school parties from County Durham and Darlington. These workshops included discussion with Artistic Director Jake Murray and performances of key scenes with actors Jamie Brown, Faz Singhateh and Macy Stasiak. In addition Elysium presented a two hour workshop with St John's Primary School on 'Macbeth' and an afternoon workshop with Durham University students on playing Shakespeare. The week ended with experimentation with 360 camera/ VR filming of select scenes from 'Macbeth' as well as traditional filming of speeches and the murder scene from the same play.
