Buckie Festival 2007

To mark the Highland Year of Culture and the arrival of the Moray Firth Flotilla, Buckie Festival 2007, led by Modo, created a spectacular celebration of the culture and community of Buckie and the surrounding areas. Drawing from local myths and legends, the show followed the Burry man and his followers as he met a host of bizarre and magical characters on his way to battle the evil fire-breathing sea monster, the Cokie Coo. The show involved more than 500 local performers from over 40 different groups as they took to the streets of Buckie in an extravaganza of acting, dancing, music, circus, historic boats, giant puppets, fireworks and much much more.
