Is Qaed Al Fursan Unlimited by Lattafa the Ultimate Tropical Perfume for Women?
I recently picked up Qaed Al Fursan Unlimited by Lattafa at Burlington for just $17, a real steal for a fragrance. This is the latest flanker in the Qaed Al Fursan line, joining the original Black Edition and the newer Untamed version. Bottled in October 2024, it’s been around since 2022 and comes in a sleek white and gold bottle with a magnetic cap, though the cap’s not as strong as I’d like. The presentation leans feminine, and I was curious to see if the scent would follow suit, especially since it’s marketed as unisex but rumored to tilt toward women. Right off the bat, spraying it on paper, it’s straight-up piña colada—coconut, pineapple, and citrus dominate, giving a tropical vibe. On my skin, the florals like ylang-ylang, jasmine, and frangipani kick in almost instantly, blending with that piña colada base. It’s vibrant and fresh, but to me, it screams feminine. Unless the dry-down shifts dramatically toward the base notes of vanilla, musk, or sandalwood, I can’t see this as a masculine or even fully unisex scent. A guy could pull it off at a tiki bar on a beach date, but for everyday wear in spring or summer? I’d say it’s headed for my wife’s shelf, not mine. After several hours, the dry-down settles in, and while it gets a touch more sandalwoody and vanillic, my initial impression holds firm—this is primarily a women’s fragrance. The longevity is impressive for the price, and if you apply it generously, the projection and sillage are solid, especially if sprayed on hair or clothes. It’s well-blended, nothing cloying or screechy, and the tropical, coconut-leaning profile with floral accents is delightful. I’d love for my wife to wear this; it’s a scent that could turn heads in the best way. But as a man, I’d only wear it in very specific scenarios—like a hot summer night on South Beach, surrounded by Hawaiian shirts and cocktails. Overall, Qaed Al Fursan Unlimited is a fantastic addition to the line, especially for women seeking a fruity, fresh, tropical scent. At $17, it’s a no-brainer, available not just at Burlington but also places like Jomashop. While it’s marketed as unisex, my Western perspective sees it as a women’s perfume, though in Middle Eastern fragrance culture, it might be more versatile. It’s not for every guy, but for ladies wanting a vibrant, piña colada-inspired scent with great performance, this is a winner. Another well-done release from Lattafa’s Qaed Al Fursan series!
