To coincide with the revival of Romeo Castellucci's Requiem, this roundtable discussion aims to explore the multifaceted nature of ecological issues in contemporary opera, at a time when the challenges of biodiversity loss and ecosystem collapse are becoming unavoidable. What narratives, what dramaturgy, what production and performance models should we envision for the opera of tomorrow?
