Northbrook Mountain
Heavy packs and vertical descents. Taking the hard way home from Northbrook Mountain. This wasn't a minimalist trek—hauling a full kit of climbing gear through the peak of the Queensland summer made for a grueling mission, but the payoff was worth it. After an overnight on the summit, I bypassed the walking tracks and opted to rappel off the mountain to make my way back. This video captures the heat, the height, and the technical side of navigating the D'Aguilar Range when you're carrying a heavy load. In this video: Location: Northbrook Mountain, South D'Aguilar National Park. Activity: Summer bush camping and technical rappelling. Gear: Full climbing kit and heavy pack expedition.
