Stoma creation and management is the most common surgical case that most of us have seen during our medical training and residency days. However, there is a scarcity of structured data on stoma be it ileostomy or colostomy. We remember our medical school days where we dreaded a stoma case as we did not know how to go about it. This gastrointestinal stoma care series is an attempt from our gastrointestinal surgery division to provide a piece of structured information on stoma basics, creation of a stoma, and stoma management for patients.
