A slow return to normal | slow living at 40

The flood recovery is still underway, but life is slowly finding its rhythm again. This week I dug a trench around the basement window and installed pavers to dam it up — hopefully the last of the damage control. In between the hard stuff, there were quiet moments worth showing up for. A morning in the garden, zinnias cut for the kitchen, progress on the pond, and a little linseed oil on the front door — the small acts of homemaking that make a house feel like yours again. For lunch this week: a plant based Thai chopped salad. Fresh, simple, and exactly what a slow summer day calls for. Closing out with the weekly meal plan before the rain moves in. 00:00 intro 00:25 Making a dam for the basement window 04:01 Flooded basement update 12:19 Making Thai chopped salad 15:30 Garden pond progress update 17:17 Cut flowers from the cottage garden 20:53 Meal plan 25:45 Oiling the front door Thai Chopped Salad https://runningonrealfood.com/wprm_pr...
