Why I Regret Buying Chanel – Le Lion Review + Unboxing

WHY I REGRET BUYING LE LION DE CHANEL – BUYING LUXURY PERFUME AS A POOR PERSON Luxury Perfume Commentary, Queer Fragrance Culture, Chanel Les Exclusifs, Harvey Nichols Experience Le Lion de Chanel review, luxury perfume for poor people, Chanel fragrance commentary, queer perfume YouTube, Les Exclusifs de Chanel, perfume psychology, luxury marketing analysis, niche fragrance review, Chanel Le Lion vs Shalimar. So we need to talk about how psychologically bizarre it is to buy luxury perfume while being objectively poor. This video is about Le Lion de Chanel, Harvey Nichols, Klarna pay in 3, exclusivity marketing, queer identity, luxury aspiration, self-doubt, department stores, and the emotional chaos of trying to smell expensive when your bank account absolutely disagrees. In this video I talk about: • Buying Le Lion de Chanel as a poor person • Luxury perfume and inferiority complexes • Chanel exclusivity and psychological branding • Why Chanel fragrances feel “untouchable” • Shopping at Harvey Nichols in Knightsbridge • Using Klarna to finance luxury perfume • Wanting to smell rich • Queer masculinity and leathery fragrances • Why expensive doesn’t always mean luxurious • Perfume consumer culture and capitalism • The emotional experience of buying luxury while broke • Why Les Exclusifs de Chanel perfumes smell so branded • Whether Le Lion de Chanel is actually worth the money I also compare Le Lion de Chanel to: • Guerlain Shalimar • Chanel Coromandel • Chanel Cuir de Russie • Other amber, leather, smoky, animalic fragrances Le Lion de Chanel is one of the strangest luxury perfumes I’ve ever experienced. It’s smoky, leathery, powdery, spicy, animalic, weirdly pissy, resinous, and deeply rich-smelling in a way that feels almost hostile. Chanel somehow made a perfume that feels like it’s judging you while you wear it, which honestly may be the most luxury thing imaginable. This video is also about the fantasy of wealth. About trying to manifest richness through scent. About believing luxury brands are somehow morally or aesthetically superior. About entering spaces like Knightsbridge and Harvey Nichols while trying to cosplay financial stability. About trying to “pass” as someone luxury belongs to. We also need to discuss the emotional absurdity of: • Hunting for a 15% Chanel discount online • Coordinating tube travel to avoid spending too much money • Choosing an outfit specifically to look wealthier • Expecting free luxury samples as resale collateral • Realizing Chanel absolutely does not care about you • Following Chanel afterward hoping for emotional reciprocity • Getting spiritually humbled by the Met Gala Instagram posts And honestly? Perfume is one of the best lenses through which to discuss class aspiration, branding, beauty, identity, taste, queerness, fantasy, and self-perception. Luxury fragrance sits at this strange intersection of art, commerce, performance, and emotional projection. COMPARISONS: Le Lion vs Shalimar: Both share bergamot and ambery vanilla elements, but Shalimar feels floral, sweet, soft, and distinctly Guerlain. Le Lion is darker, smokier, leathery, more animalic, more labdanum-heavy, and far less sweet. Le Lion vs Coromandel: Completely different fragrances. Coromandel is wet patchouli, earthy sweetness, and dense texture. Le Lion is smoky amber leather with animalic warmth and spicy powder. Le Lion vs Cuir de Russie: Cuir de Russie is elegant suede, aldehydes, florals, and creamy leather. Le Lion feels rougher, stranger, smokier, and fur-like rather than polished leather.
