With Dodge's entry into SCCA Trans Am racing in 1970, the rules required homologation, and Chrysler was required to build street versions of the package to be submitted to the racing sanctioning body. Thus the 1970 Challenger T/A was born and while the race version differed from its street counterpart, they made more of an impact on America's main streets and avenues with the car's bold graphics, matt black fiberglass hood featuring an aggressive scoop, rear 'duck tail' trunk mounted spoiler, and of course, the one-year only 340 Six Pack engine featuring three Holley carburetors mounted on an Edelbrock intake manifold. The specific Challenger T/A was sold new at the iconic Mr. Norm's Grand Spaulding Dodge in Chicago and has all proper documentation and Mr. Norm's dealership paperwork, including its factory Chrysler IBM card dealer info jacket and manual. It also had complete frame-off nut-and-bolt restoration that covered every detail from top to bottom. This Challenger T/A just pops as it's finished in high-impact Top Banana Yellow paint with a black vinyl top, black interior, black hood, black body side stripes, and the unmistakable '340 Six Pak' decals on the front fenders. It is powered by the 340ci Six Pack engine with the original Edelbrock Six Pack intake manifold and unique air cleaner that seals to the hood.
