Teaching - ACT OF VIOLENCE - Inside the whistle

EuroLeague referee Mehdi Difallah explains the concept of Act of Violence. IRS: The Referees are authorised to stop the game immediately to review any act of violence or potential act of violence. Act of Violence (an act of force intended to cause harm or carrying a risk of injury) review can have three outcomes: No Call: The review reveals the contact was accidental, a normal basketball play, or didn't meet the criteria for a foul. Unsportsmanlike Foul (U): The contact was deemed unnecessary, excessive, or hard, but did not cross the line into flagrant expulsion. Disqualifying Foul (D): The action was a flagrant, violent strike or aggression that results in the player's immediate ejection and possible further disciplinary suspension.
