#2minutiDiVangelo Marco 1,1-18 - L’ostacolo alla conversione non è il peccato, ma il pregiudizio

2 Minutes of the Gospel Mark 1:1-8 The only true obstacle to conversion is not sin, but prejudice. Gospel Commentary - Homily by Father Marco Scandelli "The beginning of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, Son of God": these words, which speak volumes, open Mark's beautiful testimony, the oldest account of Jesus' life that we still have in our hands today. Today, let's read the first eight verses of the Gospel of Saint Mark. First of all: the word "Gospel" originates here! What does it mean? Literally, it's "good news." But with this first verse, the author is actually telling us three different things. That the good news is what Jesus brought us. That the good news is what speaks "of" Jesus; but above all, that the Gospel is Jesus himself! In fact, in Greek, that "of Jesus" can be translated in all these ways. Technically, it's a genitive that can have subjective, objective, and exegetical meanings. But let's leave aside translation issues. It's clear that for Mark, the good news we somehow await every day, waking up, going to work, experiencing friendships and affection, coincides with the very person of the Son of God.
