This week we present another of our End-of-Year traditions, what I call, tongue-in-cheek, ‘The Revenge Interview’. It’s an opportunity for a well-known and highly regarded individual, with a sense of wit, satire and a flair for repartee, to interview Karan Thapar and reverse the tables. The guest is free to ask whatever he or she wants and to pursue and persist to whatever extent he or she wish to. There are no bars or limitations whatsoever. Neither the subject nor the duration of the interview have been discussed in advance. It’s conducted by the guest exactly as he or she wants. The idea is to have good natured fun and to lampoon and mimic but, if it’s so develops, there can also be moments of tension, innuendo and, even, of pillorying. The choice is entirely left to the guest interviewer.
