ABOUT CROSSFADE Crossfade is an American rock band formed in Columbia, South Carolina in 1999. The band initially consisted of Ed Sloan (lead vocals, guitar), Mitch James (bass, backing vocals), and Brian Geiger (drums). They gained popularity in the early 2000s with their self-titled debut album, released in 2004. The band's first single, "Cold," became a breakthrough hit, reaching No. 2 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart and No. 3 on the Modern Rock Tracks chart. The song received significant airplay on rock radio stations and was featured on MTV's "Total Request Live." Crossfade's music has been described as a blend of post-grunge, alternative metal, and hard rock. Their sound is characterized by heavy guitar riffs, melodic vocals, and introspective lyrics. The band's success caught the attention of music industry veteran Matt Pinfield, former MTV VJ and host of "120 Minutes." Pinfield became an early supporter of Crossfade, helping to promote their music and featuring them on his radio shows. Throughout their career, Crossfade has released three studio albums: "Crossfade" (2004), "Falling Away" (2006), and "We All Bleed" (2011). While the band has experienced lineup changes and periods of inactivity, they have maintained a dedicated fanbase and continue to be recognized for their contributions to the post-grunge and alternative metal scenes of the early 2000s.
