Fetal intervention options include: limited use of amnioreduction to remove excessive amount of amniotic fluid, and fetoscopic laser coagulation (also called fetoscopic selective laser ablation, selective laser photocoagulation, or SLPC). This minimally invasive surgery disconnects the communicating blood vessels on the placenta to stop the sharing of blood from donor to recipient.
