The presentation outlined a major global health commitment aimed at closing the health equity gap by enabling sustained access to a full portfolio of medicines and vaccines—including both current and future patented products—on a not-for-profit basis across 45 lower-income countries, including Kenya. The portfolio covers critical therapeutic areas that heavily impact maternal, infant, and public health. Key highlights included advancements in maternal immunization, specifically the RSV vaccine administered between weeks 28 and 36 of gestation to provide passive protection against lower respiratory tract disease in vulnerable infants from birth through six months. Additionally, the presentation discussed specialized treatments for deep-seated health emergencies, such as the echinocandin antifungal Anidulafungin for invasive candidiasis, and advanced antimicrobial stewardship solutions to combat emerging drug-resistant infections.
