Is The Over-Under Pass The Best Pass in Judo And Jiu-Jitsu?

The Over-Under Pass: one of the most popular ways of passing the guard in judo newaza, the over-under is also used to great effect in jiu-jitsu. In the judo world, Olympian Jimmy Pedro focused a great deal of his newaza work on this pass, and jiu-jitsu world champion Bernardo Faria (and many others) have made a career on using it to get past the guard. When done right, it quickly connects you to your partners hips and gets you close to the knee and hip line - all of which make it more difficult to use flexibility to defend the guard AND to turtle up (very common in judo).
