We should thank our departed parents and other ancestors daily, for it is because of them that we have life. However, never invoke them after their death by placing their photographs. Doing so creates their subtle presence in the home, which is neither in their best interest nor in the interests of the family members. Once this body of five elements dissolves, their soul becomes attached to the photograph. To remain there, it then requires life force energy, which it then draws from any member of the family. Therefore, avoid ostentation and pray for the upward progress of the departed soul; do not inadvertently become the cause of its downward progress.
