UNCSA Students Bring Firebird to Life with Dance Theatre of Harlem | UNCSA School of Dance

At the University of North Carolina School of the Arts (UNCSA), students don’t just learn about great works of art, they bring them to life alongside the artists who helped shape them. In this behind-the-scenes look at "Firebird," UNCSA dance students collaborate with original members of the Dance Theatre of Harlem, exploring the legacy of Stravinsky’s timeless ballet while discovering their own artistic voices. Through mentorship from DTH legends Donald Williams and Charmaine Hunter, and guidance from UNCSA Dean of Dance Endalyn T. Outlaw, students experienced what it means to connect across generations of artistry — learning not only choreography, but also resilience, discipline, and creative expression.
