MOST journalists have collected painful evidence of how the enemy strikes Kherson every day, turning its business cards into charred ruins. The historic center of the city is losing its face. The enemy is burning down buildings that are over a hundred years old: among them are religious institutions on the pedestrian Evropeyskaya Street, an elegant mud spa, and the Evropeysky Hotel. At the same time, the occupiers are using new tactics - dozens of drones are attacking residential high-rises in the “red zone”, where firefighters cannot physically reach due to constant attacks. In total, almost 9 thousand buildings have already been damaged in the community, of which 57 are architectural monuments. Together with historians, authorities, and residents who lost their homes, we are recording these violations of the Hague Convention. We are also analyzing whether it is possible to rebuild the city following the example of Warsaw and how to involve Japanese partners from JICA in this.
