Two RNAV Instrument Approaches on the Way to Breakfast - Pilot Life in the Piper Comanche - w/ATC!
What better excuse to get in some practice IFR approaches than a pilot get together nearby offering coffee and donuts! Just over 30 minutes was all it took to depart Roscoe Field (82J) in West Pensacola, fly the RNAV 35 into Pensacola International (KPNS) with a missed approach setup to the RNAV 36 into Peter Prince airport (2R4) in Milton, Florida. Pensacola approach was quite accommodating in making it all come together. Safety pilot Maddi got amazing views from Perdido Key to Pensacola Beach as we got vectored for the RNAV 35. Once we turned on the final approach course we got a flyby of Gulf Breeze, and downtown Pensacola. On the miss we flew over Garcon Point and the private airstrip there to setup for the RNAV 36 into Milton. We shot the RNAV 26 approach into Pensacola on the way home to add a 3rd approach to the day. ( • Action Packed 20 Minutes - Milton (2R4) to... ) The runway 36 approach into Milton features great views of Blackwater Bay and the mouth of the Yellow River.
