Wilmington Charter Hosts Hamilton at The Murphy Theatre on May 28, 2026

A grassroots group of community members met at the Murphy Theatre on May 28, 2026 from 7pm to 8pm for a public town hall meeting to learn from the City of Hamilton, Ohio, to learn about their local charter form of government and the pros and cons of their unique “Council-Manager” plan. At the previous town hall with guest speaker from the City of Mount Healthy, Ohio, a “Mayor-Council-Manger” plan was discussed in which a Mayor is still elected as the head of administration to appoint a City Manager. In Hamilton, both the Mayor and City Council combined appoint a City Manager. The meeting is lead by the Wilmington Charter Steering Committee and open to the public.
