Zone blanche : Quand le SAMU est leur seule chance de survie

From the precise extrication of a driver trapped in a camper van to helicopter rescues in remote rural areas, SAMU 36 (the emergency medical service for the Indre department) wages a daily battle against time. A frenetic and overwhelming workload keeps the Châteauroux hospital and its emergency dispatch center busy. For the 230,000 residents of the Indre department, the SAMU 36 teams have become the only remaining line of defense against the gradual disappearance of rural doctors, handling up to 200 cases a day.
