Danganronpa's Anime Wasn't That Bad

I've talked about some bad adaptations of video games before as well as Danganronpa, so it's about time I made a video talking about Danganronpa's anime. I don't think this show is terrible, but it's far from the best way to experience Trigger Happy Havoc. I wanted to defend my stance on being tired with Danganronpa 3's whole hope and despair thing a bit more in this video as well, but I felt it got a bit too rambly and I was doing the same thing I accused the anime of doing earlier which is repeating the same point over and over, so I cut out a chunk of it from my script. Still want to include it somewhere there so here it is. Basically, I’m well aware that Hope vs Despair is the entire point of Danganronpa 3. You could easily say “stop watching Danganronpa if you don’t care about this conflict,” but this has been revisited so many times. I think it’s fair to feel burned out by it at this point. Even if I wasn't burned out on Hope vs Despair, I don’t think this series brought any new discussion to the discussion. Danganronpa 1 was blanket Hope = Good, Despair = Bad, while Ultra Despair Girls did a good job of showing how hope can be just as damaging as despair. Danganronpa 3 isn't saying anything we haven't already heard before. If they wanted to make Danganronpa 3 more interesting they could have expanded on Truth vs Lies or Fiction vs Reality which both of the other Danganronpa games are about. As a matter of fact, the show would have been more interesting if they focused a bit more on the exact thing I mentioned in the video, talent determining a person’s merit. They could have had some cool discussions with things like the elitism that comes with having an ultimate ability.
