"Esther" Part 1

Speaker: Dr. Joshua Smith Date: May 17, 2026 This message introduces a new series through the story of Esther, showing how God works through ordinary people in difficult and secular environments to accomplish His purposes. It explains that Esther and the Jewish people lived as minorities in exile, facing opposition from an “antichrist spirit” that resisted God’s plan, yet God raised Esther up as a deliverer for her people. The message connects Esther’s story to the church’s yearly theme, “Under Construction,” emphasizing that believers are being built into a spiritual house and are called to serve as ministers in everyday life. It highlights how Esther gained favor with both God and people through her character, obedience, and divine assignment, teaching that favor comes through covenant relationship with God, faithful obedience, and walking in God’s kingdom purpose. Ultimately, the message encourages believers to reflect the spirit of Christ in a secular culture, trust in God’s hidden presence, and seek His kingdom above all else.
