WSOP 1997 - Stu Ungar Wins the World Series of Poker for a third time!
Stu Unger wins the World Series of Poker Main Event for a third time in 1997. There were 312 entrants that year and first prize was again $1,000,000. Unger would die in 1998 of a heart condition as a result of many years of drug abuse. He is one of only two people to win the WSOP Main Event three times.
