Today I attended the Cockroach Janta Party's protest at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi. What appeared humorous at first quickly revealed deeper questions about democracy, inequality, representation, governance, and the everyday struggles of ordinary citizens. Through satire, costumes, slogans, and public performance, the protest challenged us to think about who gets heard, who gets ignored, and what it means to be a citizen in contemporary India.
